Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the Honest Wingman mobile application (“Honest Wingman”, “the App”, “we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects your information. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Who this applies to

Honest Wingman is intended only for users aged 18 and older. The App is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

2. Information we collect

• Account information. Your email address, which you provide to sign in. We use a passwordless one-time-code (magic link / OTP) sign-in, so we do not collect or store a password.
• Content you submit. The screenshots and text you upload or enter to get coaching — including images of dating-app conversations and any messages, names, or details visible in them.
• Matches you save. Information you choose to save about the people you are talking to (such as labels and conversation history you store in the App).
• Usage information. A count of the coaching actions you have used, which we use to operate the free-usage limit. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-app tracking SDKs, and the App does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

3. How we use your information

• To provide the core coaching features (analyzing screenshots, suggesting and checking replies, and the chat coach).
• To create and maintain your account and sign you in.
• To operate the free-usage limit and prevent abuse of the service.
• To respond to your support requests and to maintain the security and reliability of the App.

4. How your content is processed by AI

To generate coaching, the screenshots and text you submit are sent to our third-party AI provider, Anthropic (the maker of Claude), for processing. Under Anthropic’s commercial API terms, this content is used to return your result and is not used to train Anthropic’s models.

Because your screenshots may contain another person’s messages, name, or other details, please avoid uploading content you are not comfortable sharing for processing, and avoid submitting highly sensitive personal information about others.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the service providers that operate the App on our behalf:

• Supabase — authentication and database/storage (your email, profile, saved matches, and usage data).
• Anthropic — AI processing of the screenshots and text you submit, as described above.
• Railway — hosting for our backend server, through which your requests are transmitted.
• Apple — the App Store and, in the future, in-app purchases. We do not receive your full payment card details.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the service.

6. Data retention and deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account inside the App. Deleting your account permanently removes your account record and the associated data we store about you (including your profile and saved matches), and clears your saved data from your device.

The screenshots and text you submit for coaching are processed to generate your result and are not retained on our servers as stored files after processing.

7. Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored using the security controls provided by Supabase. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information using reasonable safeguards.

8. Your choices and rights

• Delete. Delete your account and associated data at any time from within the App.
• Access and correction. You can view and update your profile information in the App.
• California residents. Subject to applicable law, you may request access to or deletion of your personal information and will not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To make a request, contact us below.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
